Well hello and welcome to my first blog in my new blogging home!
How much has changed in the last 3 months. At the beginning of July I was a partner with a leading firm, had just won a large new account and was focused on the business year ahead. Fast forward to the end of September, I have been made redundant and I am no longer a partner. On the positive side I have started my first freelance consultancy project and I am in my 4th new international location in 2 weeks (I am writing this in Omaha, Nebraska!). I would certainly never have predicted that at the beginning of July!
So why do a blog? Well I promised to keep in touch with my old team and this was easier and more rewarding than writing long emails that no one reads. Also I have been inspired by my good friend and blogger extraordinaire Paul Waring. I am never going to be able to live up to Paul's standards (either in quality, humour or frequency) and I would encourage anyone who hasn't read Paul's blog to do so (link on this page) even if you don't know him as it is an excellent read with some great music every day. If I can be half as good then I will be very happy.
What will this blog cover? I am going to write the odd update on my time since leaving the firm. However it is not going to be a daily diary - more of a commentary on interesting people, places and events along the way. It will certainly not have any recipes or breadmaking - please read Paul's blog if you want either of these!
Lastly why the title? I have been in 7 planes, 7 taxis, 1 hire car in just over 9 days and have 2 more flights tonight so it matches my current situation perfectly!
I hope you enjoy the read. So off we go.....
Aha! Thanks for the link matey - and don't sell yourself short...I saw your farewell blog at The Firm - there wasn't a dry eye in the house!
ReplyDeleteTake care - and I do expect music, recipes and footy stories in future!

Hi Jet Setter! Like the blog - sounds like you’re having an interesting time! Just back from France, having travelled over 2,000 miles in the black mercedes jet (somewhat slower than your average plane)! Ruth
